When Charles Dickens published A Christmas Carol in 1843, it was innovative, memorable and magical.
By all accounts, Pasadena-based classic theatre company A Noise Within presents the beloved classic in the same way.
While staying true to Dickens’ original work, A Noise Within’s stage adaptation makes the story of Scrooge’s redemption very much their own.
In the process, they’ve created a Southern California tradition for a number of families.
A Noise Within’s Carol includes original music, innovative staging and some surprises–which I won’t ruin by telling you more!
Beyond presenting the show itself, the company also allows audience members the opportunity to meet, chat with and take photographs with “Scrooge” and other cast members. Often, say ANW Co-Artistic Directors Julia Rodriguez-Elliott and Geoff Elliott, families return, year after year, and these photographs chronicle the ways the children have grown in twelve months.
Geoff and Julia talked about their version of A Christmas Carol, hinted at what audience members might see and offered a look at some of ANW’s educational programs for the New Year.
