Signs of Spring are everywhere! Daffodils, blue skies, hummingbirds, handcrafted jewelry, needlework, scented soaps and lots of creativity.
The latter, courtesy of Torrance Craftsmen’s Guild.
For nonprofit TCG, Spring, 2025, marks the silver anniversary of their “Annual Arts & Crafts Spring Faire”!
And they’d like to invite you to come and celebrate with them, this Saturday, March 15th.
TCG President Heidi Bartlett emails that 65 of their members will be hosting 55 booths at Torrance’s Ken Miller Rec Center. Music will be provided by DJ Ozzy, who will be serving as event emcee. Refreshments will be available, and all attendees get a chance to win a beautiful gift basket, in their door prize drawing.
While I don’t have specifics on who will be exhibiting, their past shows have had me “oohing” and “aahing” over pottery (sometimes with the artist operating their wheel onsite!), felted ornaments, patchwork quilts and luminous dichroic glasswork. And if you can resist those handcrafted scented soaps==the lavender and rose especially–you’re a better shopper than I am!
All this–and chocolate too!

Heidi (who, by the way, creates whimsical and beautiful retro-inspired accessories through her small business, This Mermaid Loves Tea) emails that, as a fundraiser for their Meghan Newman Memorial Scholarship Fund. TCG is also having an Opportunity Drawing. Participants get to support a great cause as they enter to win one of 10 beautiful handmade items and See’s candy.
Speaking of which? If you need See’s candy for Easter baskets, a special gift for anyone or just because (no one REALLY needs a reason to buy chocolate!), Torrance Cratsmen’s Guild’s spring fundraiser also has an online link, with all profits going towards scholarships for Torrance high school seniors interested in arts and crafts.
Parking and admission are free for Torrance Craftsmen’s Guild’s 25th Annual Arts & Crafts Spring Faire, happening this Saturday, March 15th from 10 am to 3 pm at Ken Miller Recreation Center, 3341 Torrance Boulevard, at Madrona.
And…
Once Saturday’s over, you still have a chance to meet some of TCG’s talented artists and makers.
At the City of Torrance’s free “Cherry Blossom Cultural Festival“, happening in two more weeks, Heidi has verified that 12 members of Torrance Craftsmen’s Guild will be among the group of almost 60 all-handmade artists exhibiting!
Happy Spring, and Happy Silver Anniversary to TCG for their “Annual Arts & Crafts Spring Faire”! This is going to be a great time.
Free parking and shuttle service is available for the City of Torrance “Cherry Blossom Cultural Festival”, happening Sunday, March 30th, from 11:00 am to 4:00 pm at Columbia Park, at West 190th Street and Prairie Avenue.
