Cooler evenings, food, live music and more than 200 talented artisans. Can summertime in Pasadena possibly get better?
Actually, yes. It can–and you’re invited to come experience it, this Friday and Saturday, August 3rd and 4th, as the “Jackalope” Indie Artisan Fair breaks new ground!
For the first time ever, “Jackalope” is hosting a summertime evening market.
Called “Summer Nights”, this special event will feature live acoustic musical performances, a free Sunset Yoga class by Yoga Works at 6:00, both Friday and Saturday evenings, and low-cost DIY workshops.
At the core of all this? Exactly what Jackalope stands for: a chance to meet and talk with lots of talented indie artisans about their work, and pick up some one-of-a-kind, all-handmade treasures. (Even–dare I say it, with the temperature in the 90s-plus?–find some special Christmas gifts for Christmas season 2018, in a relaxed atmosphere? So that you’re the one smiling and munching Christmas cookies by the fireplace, with your favorite carols playing, as everyone else dashes madly to the mall?)
Jackalope Arts co-founder Sara Diederich emails that there’s also a special incentive.
If you pre-register for the yoga class, on Jackalope’s website, you’ll receive a $5 gift card to shop at the fair, after completing the class!
In addition, the first 25 people to check in at Jackalope’s information booth, both Friday and Saturday night, will receive a special vendor swag bag.
Plus, Sara emailed that there will be four low-cost DIY workshops onsite, if you’d like to make something really cool.
Look for Hemlock Park, at Booth 186, for an opportunity to learn how to to create an air terrarium. Or, they can teach you to use essential oils to create your own “signature” fragrance. Or even customize a fabric tote bag or handkerchief with fabric inks, stencils and/or your own freehand design.
Hemlock Park’s workshops run $12 each, or two for $20.
Meanwhile, Floralia Crowns will be at Booth 141. They’ll offer workshops in creating a floral crown, crafted with affirmation, intention and some gorgeous fresh flowers. Prices vary from $8 to $30.
You might also like to play and have some fun with the lawn games. Giant Jenga, cornhole and lawn bowling will all be available for the whole family, free!
In addition, if you’d like to brag about “How I Spent My Summer Vacation”, you can grab a prop and take a fun picture with “Sally the Camper”, at the photo booth for a nominal fee.
Sara also emails that Jackalope will be hosting its first-ever beer garden, accessible to guests 21 and up, during Summer Nights! So, a chance to kick back and relax with friends, enjoy the sounds from talented roaming musicians and experience the Pasadena creative community, summertime edition!
