Uh-oh.  I think I’ve made the “Naughty” list!

I meant to have this posted last week–and somehow, mysteriously, the days sped by faster than Scrooge grabbing a gold coin off the London street.

But here is another quick roundup of some dates and times for “Early Bird” tickets and special Christmas event dates you may want to keep in mind.

Cambria Christmas Market: The 14th annual Cambria Christmas Market opens at 5 pm on Friday, November 28th.

Inspired by German Christmas markets, this festive outdoor event features more than 3 million twinkling lights, live entertainment, Santa visits, and, of course, great shopping, courtesy of local artisan vendors.

Tickets purchased online are $10 less expensive than those on sale at the door.  (However, their website warns that, if online tickets sell out for a specific date, there may not BE tickets available at the door!)

And here are two quick “tips”:

  • If you’re going on a weekend, you may want to look at the weekend of December 3-4.  Currently, tickets for those dates are listed as $15-$16 less than for the weekend after Thanksgiving.
  • Need lodging in the area?  NOW is the time to book, if you’d like one of the three listed hotel packages for the event.  These tend to sell out, as well!

Cambria Christmas Market runs from Friday, November 28th, through Wednesday, December 31st, from 5:00 to 9:00 pm.  However, December 1st and 2nd, 8th and 9th and 24th and 25, are open to hotel guests ONLY.

Great Dickens Christmas Fair:

A perennial favorite, but be sure you don’t wind up saying, “Bah, humbug!” if you miss out on tickets!  These are available online only, and can sell out–not surprisingly, as this is the best immersive Christmas event around!

I’ll be covering this more at length, but for five weekends in November and December, Daly City’s Cow Palace turns into Dickens’ London on Christmas Eve.  Games, performances, exhibiting artisans, great food and visits from the Queen, Mr. Dickens and luminaries of his day are just part of the fun–as is Old Fezziwig’s dance party!

Dickens Fair opens at 10:00 am on Saturday, November 22nd, and runs weekends through Sunday, December 21st, from 10:00 am to 6:00 pm.

Of note: if you are active military (thank you!), free admission is available for you and three family members, the first two weekends only.  Online reservations are not required; show your active military I.D. at the Will Call booth.

Dickens Fair runs weekends from Saturday, November 22nd, through Sunday, December 21st, from 10:00 am to 6:00 pm. In addition, they’ll be open on the Friday after Thanksgiving–Friday, November 28th.

Winter Wonderland at Lakehouse Resort

Lakehouse Resort, in North County San Diego, is offering early bird pricing on admission and their igloo packages, from now through Wednesday, November 26th.

Wait a minute.  Igloos?

Yes, but not the icy kind.

These are sparkling-light igloos, reserved for two-hour time periods.

If you’re looking to splurge with family and friends this Christmas season, you can rent a private igloo space for up to 8 guests.   This includes a private fire pit, s’mores kits, and six general admission tickets to Winter Wonderland.  As a bonus, if you book before November 27th, you’ll receive 40 complimentary attraction tickets.

Now, in case you want general admission–those tickets are available at $7 each, and attraction tickets are for sale for activities such as Build-a-Buddy stuffed animals for the kids, the Lakehouse Express train and the make-your-own s’mores station.

Winter Wonderland at Lakehouse Resort, North San Diego County, opens Friday, November 28th at 4:00 pm, and closes Friday, December  26th at 9:00 pm.

And–that’s it for now.  Enjoy, and I’ll try to be good from here on in.  But if you see the Krampus headed my way, please give me a little advance warning.
