There she was, under the Christmas tree.

The Barbie doll I’d dreamed of for weeks.  With clothes for every occasion.

From that Christmas morning in my seventh year, up through my growing-up years, Barbie and her friends were a very special part of my childhood.   They had all kinds of adventures, traveled everywhere, had careers ranging from Broadway stars to international secret agents, and were generally a great catalyst for creative imagination.

San Pedro Art Association remembers that magic.

And this Christmas season, they’d once again like to invite you to help them create it.

Their “Harbor Interfaith Toy Drive” for underserved families starts one week from today.

Starting Friday, November 29th, plan on dropping off one or more new, unwrapped toys at their gallery in CRAFTED, Fridays through Sundays from 11 am to 7 pm.   Or, if you’re pressed for time or not sure what to buy, a gift card is a great alternative.  And you can help support them right up until mid-December: the final day to donate is Sunday, December 15th.

Oh, and while you’re at CRAFTED?  Take a look at the creations by SPAA’s talented artists, in their gallery.

You may just need to buy yourself a gift.

San Pedro Art Association’s “Harbor Interfaith Toy Drive” runs Friday, November 29th through Sunday, December 15th, at their gallery at CRAFTED, which is open Fridays through Sundays, from 11 am to 7 pm.  CRAFTED is located at 112 West 22nd Street, at Miner, in San Pedro.
