What’s involved in presenting the story of Charles Dickens’ A Christmas Carol as radio theatre?

Lake County Theatre Company invites you to find out!

For two weekends, they’ll be offering “A Christmas Carol” as a live radio broadcast.

Audience members get to watch the Foley crew, as they create sound effects in real time.  And the actors, as they use their vocal talents to bring the story of Old Scrooge to life.   And, of course, to see the excitement of a live performance!

The details

So, where and when?  Two answers to that question:

  • Weaver Auditorium, located on the second floor of the Lower Lake Schoolhouse Museum, on Main Street, south of Morgan Valley Road.   Times: 7:00 pm, Saturday, November 30th, and 2:00 pm, Sunday afternoon, December 1st.

AND

  • Soper Reese Theatre, 275 West Main Street between Armstrong and Martin Streets, in Lakeport.  Times:7:00 pm, Saturday, December 7th, and 2:00 pm, Sunday afternoon, December 8th.

Two things to know about these performances:

  • Admission prices are “pay what you can”.  Which strikes me as a really nice gift to the community.  And if you’re in a position to give a “really nice gift” to the company for their hard work, generosity and dedication, you know what to do.

  • And, while Lake County Theatre Company caps off their year with this show, they’re currently at work on their 2025 season!   They’ll be presenting Roald Dahl’s “Matilda: The Musical” in March, and you can find out all about their upcoming offerings by subscribing to their newsletter.

Lake County Theatre Company has been bringing quality live theatre to the rural community of Lake County, located north of the San Francisco Bay Area, for more than thirty years, according to their website Their ultimate goal is to raise funds to build a permanent theater home in their area.
