Museum of Make Believe, in Laguna Beach, continues to spark enchantment.

And they’d like to invite you to celebrate with them, on two special occasions, this Christmas season.

Now, technically, Museum of Make Believe is a 501 (c)(3) nonprofit: an art museum, dedicated to preserving the art of storytelling.

But with their enchanted setting, interactive events and crafts activities, throughout the year, that term doesn’t come close to doing them justice.

This Small Business Saturday, you’re invited to experience their magic.

On Saturday, November 29th, from 10 am to 4 pm, Museum of Make Believe will host their “Bluebird Market”.   Gifted local artists and authors with be onsite to meet you.

Among them will be Jared Wilson, local author and creator of the “Princess Gwen” series, who will personally sign copies of his books.

“His heartwarming stories will bring wonder to any child’s stocking!” emails Museum of Make Believe Co-Founder Amy Mitchell.

In addition, Amy says, you’ll get a chance to pick up a signed print from Elliot, creator of the Museum’s magical new postcard set.

Teresa, from Bookish Delights, will offer her beautiful handmade bookmarks, featuring their magical characters.

And their youngest vendor, Jasper, from Jasper’s Rock + Crystals Shop, with be onsite.

“He is always a popular stop for gifts!” Amy says.

Expect to find lots of treasures, in general.   A number of the docents and interns, at Museum of Make Believe, will be selling some of their work.

But don’t count on simply looking at all the cool creations.   You get to create something special, as well.

“We will have our friends from Sidequests Arts Cafe teaching crafts, including shimmering potion bottles to take home!” Amy explains.

And in addition?  Expect to see games, prizes, magic, treats–and maybe even a visit from a fantastical, old-world fairytale Santa!

OK–that’s the first of Museum of Make-Believe’s special Christmas-season events.

I did say two.

On Friday, December 5th, they’re also participating in Hospitality Night.

Billed as “the best block party of the year”, Hospitality Night is jointly sponsored by Laguna Beach Chamber of Commerce and the City of Laguna Beach.

From 5:00 to 9:00 that evening, there’s going to be a party.

Musical performances will take place.    Caroling, crafts and refreshments will be offered.  And Santa will arrive just before the Christmas tree lighting, at 6:10 pm.

And approximately 50 local vendors will have booths set up for shopping.

“Our booth will be right on Forest Street,” Amy emails.

“We always have one of the most brightly lit booths so it will be hard to miss us!”

And, she adds, they’re going to have gifts, games and more, as Laguna welcomes the festive season.

If you’re in the area, consider stopping by–this Saturday, November 29th, at the Museum, or at their booth on Forest Street on Friday, December 5th.

You’re likely to come away with a measure of stardust.
