For Christmas season 2024, the Victorian village of Ferndale is hosting a brand-new event!
Their first annual “Holiday of Trees Bazaar and Holiday Light Driving and Walking Tour” premieres this Friday evening, November 29th, at the Humboldt County Fairgrounds.
Now, this is in addition to all the ways Ferndale celebrates the Christmas season–including their “Christmas Lighted Tractor Parade” (happening on Sunday, December 15th), lighting of America’s tallest living Christmas tree (that’s this Sunday, December 1st!), and their “Hospitality Night”, coming up on December 6th, that make Christmas in Ferndale something special.
So, what happens this Friday, for their new additional festivities? Well-l-l…
At 4:00 that evening, gates open for the first time and visitors get to shop from local vendors, take pictures with Santa, enjoy live music and admire the sparkling lights and fully decorated trees.
The “Drive-Thru Light Display” allows guests a chance–rain or shine–to travel an illuminated path with sparkling displays while listening to seasonal music available on FM transmitted radio.
Weather’s fine and you’d rather walk and take your time–and some pictures? There’s a “Walking Tour” available, for a more immersive experience.
In addition, while most of us love decorating our Christmas trees, admit it–some years just get too busy/crazy to allow time to get the tree and bring out the decorations.
If you fall into that category, this Christmas season, the “Holiday of Trees Bazaar” has you covered.
From Friday, November 29th through Sunday, December 1, they’ll have a silent auction, for the fully-decorated, themed trees in Belotti Hall. Purchased trees can be delivered to your home or business.
Meanwhile, their “Sparkling Light Spectacular”, with its Drive-Thru Light Display and Walking Tour, runs from this Friday, November 29th, through Friday, December 24th. Nightly hours are from 6:00 to 9:00 pm, and they’re dark, Mondays and Tuesdays.
And oh yes, mustn’t forget something VERY imposrtant–and festive.
Cookies and hot chocolate! They’ll be waiting for you at the entrance gates.
