As you explore the site of new Long Beach nonprofit, Cultural Alliance of Long Beach, one thought persists:
What a good idea!
Cultural Alliance of Long Beach is both an art center and a resource for working artists, of all ages. They offer gallery space (and sales opportunities) for artists; workshops on the legalities of making a living in art, as well as grantwriting; classes, showings and special performance events.
Space manager, grant writing expert and CALB secretary Karen Reside offered a tour of the second of CALB’s three galleries–featuring the work of two gifted photographers–and talked about some of the services the Cultural Alliance offers to working artists.
Cultural Alliance of Long Beach now has a new show, featuring the work of Jose Loza, photographer Mia Blackbear, and a collaborative exhibit by the National Federation of Independent Artists, a group of artists from Mexico, South America, and the US. Hours at The Bungalow Art Center are Tuesday through Friday, 4-9 pm, and Saturdays and Sundays from noon to 5 pm.
