What Can We Do?

Out of respect for Waukesha, our regularly-scheduled “Christmas event” post will not be posted today. I don’t have words for this horrific tragedy, other than to ask you to keep the families involved in your thoughts and prayers.

Would you like to know some ways you might offer help?

Here’s what I’ve seen so far:

According to Twitter, blood donations are needed. The Red Cross had posted, several weeks ago, that donations were at an all-time low. While most of us reading this are not in the geographic area, we may be able to help with financial donations or by volunteering. Here’s the link to their official site.

Twitter also shared, last evening, that the Salvation Army was on the scene offering assistance shortly afterwards. Here is their website link for donations and volunteering.

And, the Milwaukee Dancing Grannies shared the heartbreaking message that two members of their troupe were among those who were killed. If you would like to send them a message of support, here is the link to their Facebook page.

That’s about all I have, at this point. Other than to say, if you’re close to someone you love today, please give them an extra hug.
