OK, it is<\/em> December 26th.\u00a0\u00a0 The big day is past.\u00a0 (Hope it was a very Merry Christmas for you!)<\/p>\n

But, guess what.\u00a0 In a lot of places, it’s still Christmas!\u00a0 Here’s a quick roundup of what and where.<\/p>\n

SAN DIEGO:<\/strong><\/p>\n

The Lamb’s Players Theatre <\/a>offer final performances, this weekend, of their interactive dinner show, “An American Christmas”, at the Hotel Del Coronado<\/a>.\u00a0 According to the company’s website<\/a>, this is a 21-year tradition in their mission to ,”tell good stories well” .\u00a0 There are a few seats left for this evening, and some availability for Saturday.<\/p>\n

The premise?\u00a0 It’s Christmas, 1912, and the Marshall family are hosting a party in the Hotel Del Coronado’s ballroom–as is their annual tradition.\u00a0 Stories, songs, dances and laughter are all part of the festivities, woven around a five-course meal.<\/p>\n

“An American Christmas” shows are scheduled for this evening and tomorrow night, December 26 and 27, at 6:30.\u00a0 More information is available here<\/a>.<\/p>\n

SAN FRANCISCO:<\/strong><\/p>\n

Tonight is the first night of “Zoo Lights Post-Christmas<\/a>” at the San Francisco Zoo<\/a>!\u00a0 Now in its second year, “Zoo Lights” allows visitors to see the animals, visit with reindeer, experience snow flurries and enjoy live entertainment under the stars.\u00a0 Magic, dance (including tap-dancing Christmas trees) juggling, puppets and live music are all part of the fun.<\/p>\n

“Zoo Lights Post-Christmas” is happening tonight, December 26, through this upcoming Tuesday, December 30th, from 5 to 8 pm at the San Francisco Zoo<\/a>, located at Sloat Boulevard at the Great Highway.<\/em><\/p>\n

LOS ANGELES:<\/strong><\/p>\n

Strap on your skates!\u00a0 The Pershing Square Ice Rink<\/a>, in downtown L.A., is open for skating and special events.\u00a0 They’re having their final “Wicked Wednesday” next week, with the ice glowing green as skaters spin to the show’s soundtrack!\u00a0\u00a0 There will also be “DJ Spotlight Nights” on Thursdays till mid-January.\u00a0 And brrrrr<\/em>–they’re planning their first-ever Los Angeles “Polar Bear Ice Skate” on New Year’s Day, where skaters show off their best moves and<\/em> their favorite beachwear!<\/p>\n

Pershing Square Ice Rink<\/a>, at 532 South Olive Street in L.A.,\u00a0 is open from now through January 19th.\u00a0 Hours and special-event information are available here.<\/a><\/em><\/p>\n

SAN PEDRO:<\/strong><\/p>\n

\"festive<\/a> The Port of Los Angeles Waterfront Red Car <\/a>is something special anyway.\u00a0\u00a0 And they have a Christmas gift for their riders.<\/p>\n

This weekend (as in the entire month of December) you and your family can ride for free!\u00a0 If you’re not familiar with the Red Car, it’s a vintage trolley line, patterned after the 1909 Pacific Electric Red Cars.\u00a0 The trolley runs on a 1.5 mile course, from San Pedro’s World Cruise Center to the 22nd Street Landing.<\/p>\n

\"Santa<\/a>Getting to ride it is fun, especially when they’re all decorated up for Christmas.\u00a0 But you can also take the Red Car to go off and do something special.<\/p>\n

\"bowls<\/a>As mentioned in a previous post, new creative space Seaside Studios San Pedro <\/a>is supporting The Empty Bowls Project<\/a> by donating bowls to a February fundraiser for\u00a0 Harbor Interfaith Services.\u00a0 Proprietors Gayle Fleury and Regina Fernandez would welcome you and your favorite fellow “creatives” to drop by the studio to glaze (paint) a bowl, for free, as part of this project. \u00a0 Their open-studio hours are Saturdays from 10 am to 3 pm, but they also welcome visitors at other hours if you call first: (562) 673-7660.<\/p>\n

While you’re there, check out the beautiful pottery <\/a>Regina creates–and Gayle’s unique, handcrafted jewelry and accessories<\/a>.\u00a0 These are some gifted artists!<\/p>\n

\"car<\/a>CRAFTED at the Port of Los Angeles<\/a> is at the 22nd Street end of the Red Car line.<\/p>\n

\"CRAFTED<\/a>This is a year-round crafts marketplace, featuring more than 100 artists and artisans. They also have live music, food trucks and DIY workshops.\u00a0\"CRAFTED<\/a>CRAFTED, open Fridays, Saturdays and Sundays, offers a different craft class every weekend. All day today, they’re offering classes in “felt flower accessories” at their “Creation Station”!\"creation<\/a>Have a great Christmastide–and remember, according to the traditional calendar, Christmas isn’t really<\/em> over until January 6th!<\/p>\n

The Port of Los Angeles Waterfront Red Car operates Fridays, Saturdays and Sundays, and will offer free rides this weekend, December 26-28.\u00a0 Seaside Studios San Pedro, located at 525 North Harbor Boulevard, #3,. between Beacon and O’Farrell Streets, have open studio hours tomorrow, December 27th, from 10 am to 3 pm.\u00a0 CRAFTED at the Port of Los Angeles, at 112 East 22nd Street, near Miner, in San Pedro, is open 11 am to 6 pm, this Friday, Saturday and Sunday, December 26th-28th.<\/em><\/p>\n","protected":false},"excerpt":{"rendered":"
