Artistic talent speaks for itself.\u00a0 When your gifts lead you to create incredible work, you don’t have to be a businessperson, too.\u00a0 Right?<\/p>\n

Wrong, says Karen Reside, Space Manager, grantwriting expert and secretary at Cultural Alliance of Long Beach<\/a>, a new nonprofit arts center\/resource cooperative for working artists.<\/p>\n

During a tour of the third of CALB’s<\/a> three galleries, Karen talked about some of the organization’s upcoming new workshops, including a scheduled March 2013 series: marketing skills for working artists.<\/p>\n

Karen also offered a look at the work of nationally-known calligraphers Lisa Engelbrecht<\/a> and Barbara Close<\/a>, whose work was on display in one of the galleries during our visit, and who had been a part of a special Valentine’s Day event that combined media and encouraged everybody to create art!<\/p>\n

Cultural Alliance of Long Beach’s current show features the work of Jose Loza, photographer Mia Blackbear, and a collaborative exhibit by the National Federation of Independent Artists, a group of artists from Mexico, South America, and the US.\u00a0 Hours at The Bungalow Art Center are Tuesday through Friday, 4-9 pm, and Saturdays and Sundays from noon to 5 pm.<\/em><\/p>\n","protected":false},"excerpt":{"rendered":"
