says proprietor Meg on her Facebook page.<\/p>\n<p>And the designs she&#8217;s sharing are enough to make anyone happy.<\/p>\n<p>In just the past few weeks, she&#8217;s displayed button Christmas trees (who would have thought of those?\u00a0 Not me!), wooden handpainted &#8220;gift tag&#8221; ornaments and, my favorite&#8211;wooden reindeer with all kinds of festive Christmas patterns!<\/p>\n<p>Rumor has it that Meg may be planning some handcrafted-art workshops in the future.\u00a0\u00a0 For now, you can see her work at the above link and <a href=\"https:\/\/chalkcouture.com\/meglet?fbclid=IwAR04yOh8iiYVSUwfy4HL3_IyaEzM5jyU04QfZxap-IFmq1QEtlWwktqiFFs\">on her &#8220;Chalk Couture&#8221; sign in the background\" width=\"600\" height=\"450\" \/><\/a><p id=\"caption-attachment-14511\" class=\"wp-caption-text\">(Photo courtesy of Torrance Craftsmen&#8217;s Guild.)<\/p><\/div>\n<p>Two years ago, I had the opportunity to <a href=\"https:\/\/noelophile.com\/?p=14473\">interview<\/a> <a href=\"https:\/\/www.kardsbyangie.com\/\">Kards by Angie<\/a> proprietor Angela Jackson.<\/p>\n<p>I&#8217;m still wowed by the fact that she&#8217;s never had formal graphic-arts training.<\/p>\n<p>Angie can design greeting cards for any occasion imaginable&#8211;and her work is absolutely gorgeous.<\/p>\n<p>My personal favorite, for this Christmas season, is her red poinsettia with the sparkly red and green accents.\u00a0\u00a0 But she also has a striking Kwanzaa card, as well as her African designs and her whimsical dog tangled up in Christmas lights.<\/p>\n<p>That&#8217;s only one aspect of her work.\u00a0 You might also like to check out her birthday, flowers (those ribbon roses and lilies especially!) and general-occasion greeting cards.<\/p>\n<p>As a small business, she can also craft individual cards if you just need one or two.<\/p>\n<p>And if you&#8217;d like to meet and chat with her as you browse her work, Angie is exhibiting tomorrow, November 27th, in San Pedro&#8211;and has upcoming shows in Redondo Beach and San Pedro.\u00a0 Here&#8217;s a <a href=\"https:\/\/www.kardsbyangie.com\/angie's-events\">link to her schedule<\/a>.<\/p>\n<h4><strong>Steampunk creative<a href=\"https:\/\/noelophile.com\/?attachment_id=8590\" rel=\"attachment wp-att-8590\"><img loading=\"lazy\" decoding=\"async\" class=\"aligncenter size-full wp-image-8590\" src=\"https:\/\/noelophile.com\/wp-content\/uploads\/2015\/11\/ali1-e1447485659482.jpg\" alt=\"Accessory Alchemy proprietor Ali Krajewski displays her miniature Christmas-tree pendant in front of a banner that says &quot;Accessory Alchemy&quot;, at her Jackalope Pasadena booth\" width=\"600\" height=\"337\" \/><\/a><\/strong><\/h4>\n<p>How do you craft jewelry and create something brand-new?<\/p>\n<p>Well, if you&#8217;re Ali Krajewski, you combine Victorian and steampunk influences to make some very fun, imaginative things.<\/p>\n<p>Ali, who is the proprietor of Long Beach-based <a href=\"https:\/\/www.accessoryalchemy.com\/\">Accessory Alchemy<\/a>, has that gift down to a science.<\/p>\n<p>Steampunk clock faces and porcelain Victorian roses adorn the barrettes she makes.\u00a0\u00a0 Her earring selection includes Gothic-looking Victorian teardrop dangles, steampunk clock faces and eye-catching skeleton keys.<\/p>\n<p>For the men, her creations include compass and clock-face cuff links, money clips with gears and tie clips featuring vintage watch faces.<\/p>\n<p>My all-time favorite of her creations, however, is the miniature Christmas tree pendant under a tiny miniature dome.\u00a0 I wear mine every year, and so do several of my gift recipients!<\/p>\n<p>According to her <a href=\"https:\/\/www.accessoryalchemy.com\/find-me\">&#8220;Find Me&#8221; link on her website,<\/a> Ali will also be exhibiting her work in the upcoming weeks: both at L.A. Comic-Con, December 2nd through 4th, and at Jackalope Burbank, December 10th and 11th.<\/p>\n<h4><strong>His time is your heirloom<a href=\"https:\/\/noelophile.com\/?attachment_id=10650\" rel=\"attachment wp-att-10650\"><img loading=\"lazy\" decoding=\"async\" class=\"aligncenter size-full wp-image-10650\" src=\"https:\/\/noelophile.com\/wp-content\/uploads\/2016\/12\/David-and-his-clocks1.jpg\" alt=\"David stands behind three of his clocks in his booth at Pasadena Jackalope Fair\" width=\"600\" height=\"519\" srcset=\"https:\/\/noelophile.com\/wp-content\/uploads\/2016\/12\/David-and-his-clocks1.jpg 600w, https:\/\/noelophile.com\/wp-content\/uploads\/2016\/12\/David-and-his-clocks1-300x260.jpg 300w, https:\/\/noelophile.com\/wp-content\/uploads\/2016\/12\/David-and-his-clocks1-347x300.jpg 347w\" sizes=\"auto, (max-width: 600px) 100vw, 600px\" \/><\/a><\/strong><\/h4>\n<p>Okay, let us not be sexist about this.\u00a0 So far I&#8217;ve spotlighted some amazing women makers (with two more coming up).<\/p>\n<p>But let&#8217;s also showcase a man who&#8217;s creating something amazing: woodworker David Ortega, of <a href=\"https:\/\/www.etsy.com\/shop\/HeirloomsEtcetera?ref=search_shop_redirect\">Heirlooms Etc.<\/a><\/p>\n<p>David creates Craftsman- and mission-style mantel clocks and accessories.\u00a0\u00a0 While his talent as a woodworker shines through his coat racks, tissue boxes and picture frames, his clocks are my personal favorite.<\/p>\n<p>Each named for a different tree, these have that warm, burnished-wood look.\u00a0 These strike me (sorry, I&#8217;ll stick to my day job!) as a great special gift for someone.\u00a0 In fact, years ago, my mom and I went in together to buy my favorite uncle a handcrafted grandfather clock, which stood in his living room for the rest of his lifetime.\u00a0 I&#8217;m reminded of that clock every time I see David&#8217;s work.<\/p>\n<p>While his <a href=\"https:\/\/www.etsy.com\/shop\/HeirloomsEtcetera?ref=search_shop_redirect\">Etsy page<\/a> doesn&#8217;t show any upcoming appearances, it certainly does exhibit some beautiful work at which you might like to take a look.<\/p>\n<h4><strong>Magic and miniatures<a href=\"https:\/\/noelophile.com\/?attachment_id=11385\" rel=\"attachment wp-att-11385\"><img loading=\"lazy\" decoding=\"async\" class=\"aligncenter size-full wp-image-11385\" src=\"https:\/\/noelophile.com\/wp-content\/uploads\/2017\/10\/Barb-with-her-painting-21_edited-11.jpg\" alt=\"Barb Lieberman with purple flower painting\" width=\"600\" height=\"400\" srcset=\"https:\/\/noelophile.com\/wp-content\/uploads\/2017\/10\/Barb-with-her-painting-21_edited-11.jpg 600w, https:\/\/noelophile.com\/wp-content\/uploads\/2017\/10\/Barb-with-her-painting-21_edited-11-300x200.jpg 300w, https:\/\/noelophile.com\/wp-content\/uploads\/2017\/10\/Barb-with-her-painting-21_edited-11-450x300.jpg 450w\" sizes=\"auto, (max-width: 600px) 100vw, 600px\" \/><\/a><\/strong><\/h4>\n<p>Is <a href=\"https:\/\/www.etsy.com\/shop\/TheEnchantedWren\">The Enchanted Wren<\/a> magical&#8211;or just very talented?<\/p>\n<p>Yes.<\/p>\n<p>There seems to be very little that paper and fiber artist Barb Lieberman <em>can&#8217;t<\/em> do.<\/p>\n<p>Her <a href=\"https:\/\/www.etsy.com\/shop\/TheEnchantedWren?section_id=28394102\">Etsy store creations<\/a> include paper art, paper earrings, enchanted miniatures and stickers&#8211;all inspired by magic and nature.\u00a0\u00a0 Her miniature &#8220;Moss Embroidery with Pumpkin&#8221; is a personal favorite.\u00a0 However, I can&#8217;t wait to see what Yule-themed art she may come up with!<\/p>\n<p>Barb has been known to share her art by teaching classes in the past, and I can only hope she&#8217;ll do that online in the future.\u00a0 Meanwhile, if you&#8217;re in the Bay Area, you may get a chance to meet her firsthand, next Saturday, December 3rd.\u00a0 She&#8217;ll be one of the exhibiting artists in <a href=\"https:\/\/www.sfsnad.org\/special-events\">San Francisco School of Needlework and Design&#8217;s &#8220;Fantastic Fiber Fair&#8221;<\/a>!<\/p>\n<h4><strong>Seeds of magic<a href=\"https:\/\/noelophile.com\/?attachment_id=14629\" rel=\"attachment wp-att-14629\"><img loading=\"lazy\" decoding=\"async\" class=\"aligncenter size-full wp-image-14629\" src=\"https:\/\/noelophile.com\/wp-content\/uploads\/2020\/11\/Ellie1-1.jpg\" alt=\"Ellie Lieberman, in purple with purple fairy wings, smiles against a backdrop of bookshelves\" width=\"600\" height=\"400\" srcset=\"https:\/\/noelophile.com\/wp-content\/uploads\/2020\/11\/Ellie1-1.jpg 600w, https:\/\/noelophile.com\/wp-content\/uploads\/2020\/11\/Ellie1-1-300x200.jpg 300w\" sizes=\"auto, (max-width: 600px) 100vw, 600px\" \/><\/a><\/strong><\/h4>\n<p>And last but by no means least is Ellie Lieberman, proprietor of <a href=\"http:\/\/acorntops.weebly.com\/\">Acorn Tops<\/a>.<\/p>\n<p>Ellie&#8217;s creative style leans heavily towards enchantment.<\/p>\n<p>With the goal of bringing magic into daily life, Ellie carves, stitches, paints&#8211;and infuses magic into her work.<\/p>\n<p>Carved fairy doors are her specialty, along with stitched sachets (her fabric trees and stars would make excellent stocking stuffers!), and her ornaments are eye-catching and unique.\u00a0 Meanwhile, if anyone in your house happens to be allergic to scent (and one of our cats is!), she can craft a pumpkin, star, Christmas tree, heart etc. that&#8217;s scent-free.<\/p>\n<p>My personal favorite of her creations is a red Christmas-themed fairy door, which is usually one of the first ornaments we unwrap and set out as we decorate.\u00a0 But she also makes fairy houses, handpainted ornaments and scented bookmarks.<\/p>\n<p>Bookmarks?\u00a0 Well, <a href=\"https:\/\/www.amazon.com\/Barbara-Lieberman\/e\/B00NHI7PT6%3Fref=dbs_a_mng_rwt_scns_share\">like her mom, Barb<\/a>, Ellie is a gifted author.\u00a0\u00a0 Don&#8217;t miss her Christmas story &#8220;The Memory Tree&#8221;, her novel, &#8220;Be&#8221;
