department:\u00a0 the Bay Area&#8217;s Dickens Fair, during Christmas season 2020, brought virtual festivity to everyone with their free &#8220;Dickens Fair at Home&#8221; program.\u00a0 Every weekend, from Thanksgiving through Christmas Eve, they put up new content.\u00a0 These free offerings included video performances and documentaries, downloadable recipes and sheet music and virtual crafts workshops.<\/p>\n<p>They&#8217;re hoping to be back, this November, with an onsite Dickens Fair, as they&#8217;ve had since the 1970s.<\/p>\n<div id=\"attachment_14731\" style=\"width: 610px\" class=\"wp-caption aligncenter\"><a href=\"https:\/\/noelophile.com\/?attachment_id=14731\" rel=\"attachment wp-att-14731\"><img loading=\"lazy\" decoding=\"async\" aria-describedby=\"caption-attachment-14731\" class=\"size-full wp-image-14731\" src=\"https:\/\/noelophile.com\/wp-content\/uploads\/2020\/12\/20131130_AOPjelly_8624-e1608268236838.jpg\" alt=\"Orange jellies in a tank\" width=\"600\" height=\"450\" \/><\/a><p id=\"caption-attachment-14731\" class=\"wp-caption-text\">(Image courtesy of Aquarium of the Pacific, and used with permission.)<\/p><\/div>\n<p>Meanwhile, Aquarium of the Pacific, in Long Beach, which took a huge hit due to the pandemic, is now offering virtual tours and virtual &#8220;meetups&#8221; with some of their aquarium residents.<\/p>\n<p>On weekends, they offer virtual tours of both the North Pacific Gallery, and of their Tropical Pacific Gallery.\u00a0\u00a0\u00a0 These are 45-minute tours with a member of the Aquarium staff, where participants get to &#8220;meet&#8221; one or more of the Aquarium animals, and learn more about them.<\/p>\n<p>In addition, during the week, the Aquarium offers <a href=\"http:\/\/www.aquariumofpacific.org\/teachers\">teacher resources<\/a> and <a href=\"http:\/\/www.aquariumofpacific.org\/education\/virtualfieldtrips\">virtual field trips<\/a>.\u00a0 And one of their new offerings, as they raise funds to continue their conservation and research, is their &#8220;<a href=\"http:\/\/www.aquariumofpacific.org\/education\/programs\/virtual_animal_encounters\">Virtual Animal Encounters<\/a>&#8221; program.<\/p>\n<p><a href=\"https:\/\/noelophile.com\/?attachment_id=14732\" rel=\"attachment wp-att-14732\"><img loading=\"lazy\" decoding=\"async\" class=\"aligncenter size-full wp-image-14732\" src=\"https:\/\/noelophile.com\/wp-content\/uploads\/2020\/12\/Ollie-e1608268352674.jpg\" alt=\"White otter near glass in her tank\" width=\"600\" height=\"450\" \/><\/a><\/p>\n<p>This is where you get to reserve a 30-minute Zoom call with a member of the Aquarium staff, who will introduce you and your work group, virtual party or at-home classroom to one of the otters or sea lions in residence.<\/p>\n<p>Admit it, a cute furry otter or a few sea lion barks might lead to a very memorable event.<\/p>\n<p><a href=\"https:\/\/noelophile.com\/?attachment_id=14864\" rel=\"attachment wp-att-14864\"><img loading=\"lazy\" decoding=\"async\" class=\"aligncenter size-full wp-image-14864\" src=\"https:\/\/noelophile.com\/wp-content\/uploads\/2021\/01\/renegade-craft-fair-sign-1-e1609990600391.jpg\" alt=\"Orange &quot;Renegade Craft Fair&quot;
